Symbolism in Lord of the Rings

From the book, Lord of the Rings 📚
Gandalf the Grey

"Gandalf the Grey. That was my name.

(Now) I am Gandalf the White! I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide."

It's conspicuous that Gandalf's "fall" occurred whilst still somewhat naive, and after the arduous battle in the underworld (unconscious) he is reborn as Gandalf the White.

Gandalf the WhiteAlso noteworthy that a very successful professor (the author 👨‍🎓) regarded this one book as his major work.

"fiction" 🤣

This is one example of transformation, of many, in this wonderful book.

  1. The author's way of working through his own personal transformation? Such experiences have been the foundation of many creative projects.
